Located toward the southwestern border of Fairfield County, Connecticut lies the historic and beautiful town of New Canaan. The area surrounding New Canaan was originally established as a religious gathering place, also known as Canaan Parish. This formation was designated by colonials in 1731, for use by the residents of nearby Norwalk and Stamford. After the Revolutionary War, the once small agricultural community of Canaan Parish began to grow with the development of the shoemaking industry. Due to the population growth and economic boost, the area we know as New Canaan was officially incorporated as a town in 1801. In 1868, the connection of railroad reached New Canaan, further connecting the town to all the nearby major cities.

Today, the town is home to over 20,000 residents spread across 22.5 square miles of land. The most notable features to the residents and visitors are the modern architectural designs, the beautiful parks, and access to the Long Island Sound. The recreational and historical sections of the town have provided the area with a strong economy, a nationally recognized school system, and wonderful events for residents to partake in. With much to do and see around the community of New Canaan, it is no wonder why many choose to call this place home.
