Amelia Barber

I was born in Maine where my love of swimming began. We had a pool in our back yard that I learned to swim in. We moved to Greenwich, CT when I was about 4 or 5 years old, there I started competitive swimming at the Boys and Girls club. We moved around a lot as I grew up, however we finally landed in Fairfield where I would continue swimming through high school. Though I had hoped to swim in college I suffered a knee injury that prevented me from doing so swim instruction became my passion. I also started lifeguarding at 15 and worked as such for 3 years in Westport.
