Growing up, Katie enjoyed her summers with her family out by the lake or in the pool. To keep up with her older cousins and friends she quickly learned to swim and gained a love for the water. Becoming a certified lifeguard at 15, she learned the importance of water safety before learning how to drive. It was during her years spent lifeguarding that she developed respect for the water and witnessed first-hand the power in knowing how to swim. Out of the water, Katie enjoys running, hiking, and hanging with her family and friends. Fun fact – she once went shark cage diving, and although she couldn’t see the shark, there are pictures to prove it! She currently resides in Fairfield, CT where she attended and graduated from Fairfield University.
