Mia Mendribil

By amerigo

Mia grew up in Norwalk, CT and was in swim classes before she could walk! Both of Mia’s parents were athletes and they always pushed her to be the best she could be in whatever situation she was put in. She remembers sitting in the tub at four years old asking her dad to put her on the swim team and soon as she turned five, he did. She continued on to compete until the end of her sophomore year of high school. Mia has always been more comfortable in the water than she has on land, always being the first person in the pool or ocean when on vacation. Swimming taught Mia the importance of hard work and dedication – that it always pays off in the end even if you can’t see it right away. It taught her how to be a productive team member and proud leader of every community she joins. She loves seeing the progress in her students as they get more comfortable in the water and start becoming independent swimmers.
